Job Description

Role: Umbraco Developer
Location: Remote (Travel to West Midlands Once Every Few Months)
Salary: £50,000 - £55,000
Network IT are supporting a charity who are looking to appoint a skilled Umbraco/Web Developer to join a small, collaborative web development team.
You’ll support and evolve a mix of current and legacy web platforms, while also playing an important role in shaping the charity’s future digital strategy. This role suits someone who enjoys being close to decision‑making, contributing ideas, and influencing direction—not just delivering tickets.
This is a largely remote role, offering the flexibility of home working while still maintaining meaningful connection with the wider organisation through occasional on‑site visits.
Role Overview
As an Umbraco Developer, you’ll work across the organisation’s digital estate, supporting development, maintenance, and enhancement of Umbraco‑based websites and related systems. You’ll collaborate with colleagues of varying technical experience, acting as a strong technical voice within the team—providing guidance, suggestions, and constructive challenge where needed.
In addition to supporting existing platforms, you’ll help the charity progress on its strategic digital journey, contributing to decisions around tooling, architecture, and long‑term improvements.
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, maintain, and support Umbraco‑based websites, including legacy solutions.
  • Build and enhance features using C#, .NET, and associated web technologies.
  • Provide technical input and recommendations to support the organisation’s digital strategy.
  • Collaborate closely with a small multidisciplinary team, offering mentorship and technical leadership where appropriate.
  • Review existing platforms and identify opportunities for improvement, consolidation, or modernisation.
  • Ensure solutions are scalable, maintainable, and aligned with best practice.
  • Support integrations with other systems, including CRM and data platforms where applicable.
Key Requirements
  • Strong commercial experience with Umbraco CMS.
  • Solid background in C# and .NET development.
  • Experience supporting and enhancing both modern and legacy web applications.
  • Confidence to act as a technical authority, able to influence decisions and challenge constructively.
  • Comfortable working in a small team with mixed technical experience.
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative, pragmatic mindset.
Desirable
  • Experience integrating with or working alongside Microsoft Dynamics 365.
  • Exposure to Power BI and Power Apps, particularly where used to support reporting, internal tools, or digital workflows.
  • Experience working with data platforms, such as data warehousing, ETL processes, or data pipelines, and an appreciation for how data underpins digital products and reporting.
  • Exposure to digital transformation or platform modernisation projects.
  • Prior experience working in a charity or purpose‑driven organisation.
