An opportunity has arisen for a Solutions Architect to join one of the Top 50 Law Firm in an exciting time of growth. My client has the ambition to double size by 2022 and be part of the Top 30.



In order to achieve their goals, my client is looking an Infrastructure Solutions Architect to help them in their digital transformation.



As IT Solutions Architect, you will responsible for defining the overall structure and implementing new programmes, solutions and systems to the business.





Your day to day work will be :



- Defining Solutions Architecture and Design within the firm, and being responsible for the development and ownership (solution delivery) of end to end IT propositions and solutions

- Working primarily alongside other architects and engineering resources in the Development and Service sub-teams, to formulate, design and maintain appropriate Solution Architecture Models, and feed into further developing the existing Governance Standards and Solutions

- Leading design phases on Business IT programmes, validating requirements and ensuring that all aspects of solution design are within scope, complete, and deliverable

- Having responsibility for the architecture of all solutions delivered to the business, both from internal and external suppliers

- Performing a technical assurance role to ensure consistency of solutions and environment

- Facilitating the handover from development and pilot into supported production, ensuring that appropriate documentation and support models are in place

- Being accountable for on-going Business Solution Integrity whilst assisting project managers to manage design dependencies and impacts of change to ensure the design is aligned to Target Operational and Architectural Models

- Supporting Business Solutions arising from M&A activities (with the support from senior stakeholders in the business), for the end solution definition and ensuring there is no undue impact on the existing ICT estate

- Engaging with 3rd party suppliers and subcontractors, assisting in the negotiations of service provision and 3rd party solution shaping

- Producing, and solution documentation as required by the business and internal IT teams

- Being a champion for innovation, analysing new technology solutions that could bring significant benefit to the business across its diverse business areas

- Seeking to simplify an extremely complex business and IT environment and the supported estate by re-using solutions, combining functionality, and retiring under-used technologies

- Driving continuous architecture improvement across the business and into the supporting Service Lines, with the objectives of increasing business productivity, efficiency and helping to deliver service improvement at reduced costs

- Developing and defining overall solution architectures, and being responsible for the business and technical feasibility, completeness and cohesiveness of all solutions across the firm

- Having responsibility to ensure all non-functional requirements have been identified and addressed, and that the solution provides value for money in terms of total cost of ownership and value-add for the firm



The successful candidate must have:



- a minimum of 2 years' solid experience in a similar role from either a Solution Architect or Technical Design Authority background is essential

- Infrastructure background :

o Virtualisation (VMware, MS Hypervisor, Azure etc)

o Hosting

o Distributed computing

o Citrix

o Cisco networking

o Microsoft Systems (e.g. Exchange, SharePoint, System Centre, Forefront etc)

o Storage solutions (SAN/NAS etc)

o LAN/WAN topologies and optimisation

o Backup and Restore solutions

o Security (e.g. Network, application, identity, information, etc)

- Developing solutions within an Enterprise Architecture Framework : a working knowledge of and certification in an EA method (e.g. TOGAF, Zachman)

- Knowledge and experience of best practice solutions delivery and the associated commercial and business issues

- Demonstrable track record in the successful design and delivery of complex technical and service solutions
