My local authority client based in Norwich is looking for a Desktop Support Engineer who can successfully hit the ground running.
As a desktop support engineer you will provide software support for end user devices, including PCs, laptops, tablets, telephones, printers and scanners, ensuring that incidents and standard service catalogue requests are resolved in line with local service level agreements/key performance indicators and local operating and security policies.
Key duties will include:
Ability to analyse issues and quickly identify solutions based on information available, theoretical experience, know-how, technical judgement, within pre-defined policy and operational frameworks.
Ability to work and effectively communicate (written and spoken) at all levels (technical and non-technical) patiently in a variety of situations.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with both technical and user communities – must be customer focused.
Ability to prioritise multiple requests to meet service level targets and project milestones with challenging deadlines.
Careful attention to detail and ability to thoroughly check work for accuracy and quality standards.
Ability to work positively as part of a team.
Ability to be flexible and prepared to exercise own initiative in the execution of their duties.
Ability to travel independently and cost effectively to various work locations.
Awareness of ITIL.
Good overall knowledge of IT concepts and practice, current technologies and trends.
Demonstrate awareness/understanding of equal opportunities and other people's behavioural, physical, social and welfare needs.
Ensure that reasonable care is taken at all times for the health, safety and welfare of yourself and other persons, and to comply with the policies and procedures relating to health and safety within the team.
You will need to have a valid driver's license for this role.
This role is initially for 3 months with a view to extend just depending on the business needs.
My client is offering £12.60 per hour, INSIDE IR35.
