My local authority client based in Cornwall is looking for an Application Analyst who can successfully hit the ground running.



The Council is currently delivering a large technical programme of IT modernisation and transformation including end user device replacement programmes, platform migration such as Windows 10 and Office 365 along with infrastructure transformation into Azure and modernised Wi-Fi networks. They require an Application Analysts to work on the Windows 10 migration project to co-ordinate and complete all areas of discovery and testing.



Application Analysts are required to perform data validation and discovery work on the Council's business application estate to inform the migration from Windows 7 to 10. The purpose of the role is to gather a full understanding of licensing, versioning and business requirements for each application across the estate prior to the application being provided to the project to migrate to the Windows 10 platform.



Once the application has been packaged for Windows 10, there is a requirement to co-ordinate with users to document user application testing processes, manage defects logged and ensure sign off.



Key duties will include:



Data validation using various techniques such as telephone calls, emails, Internet search and data analysis of various data sources such as spreadsheets and databases.



Updating an ‘application tracker' database with the results from the data mining and discovery work.



Ensuring records are accurate and maintained.



Highlighting areas of potential concern to the Application Discovery Team Leader or Test Co-Ordinator Team Leader.



Develop strong working relationships with IS colleagues and the Council's key business application users.



Provide other administrative assistance where required to the Project Manager and Application Packaging team.



Manage calls and defects within the Council's call logging system.



Background experience in IT Support e.g. understanding of how to use active directory users and computers, group policy management, installing software on a computer, and offering 1st line remote support.



Basic ITIL knowledge or understanding



You will need a Basic DBS for this role.



This role is initially for 3 months with a view to extend just depending on the business needs.



My client is offering £200.00, INSIDE IR35.
