An Application Support Analyst is now required to join the expanding business application support team within this leading West Midlands based IT services Company. Working in a fast moving environment the Application Analyst will be responsible for many activities relating to both the front office and back office applications, these include; providing 2nd line day-to-day operational support for business systems / applications, routine and periodic administrative and maintenance tasks, upgrade of system installations and the release of new software and updates.
The Application Support Analyst –will identify system problems and liaise with Business Analysts, Systems Developers / Vendors and System Testers to develop solutions, maintain system documentation, procedures and work instructions, data management (incorporating data manipulation to resolve queries and operational systems problems) and day-to-day administration of systems databases, system maintenance audit / change control logs following any system maintenance activities (e.g. data archive, data split/merge, other system maintenance activity), post implementation checks following all deployments of new or modified software components.
Essential knowledge for the successful Application Support Analyst;
- Exposure to Microsoft based servers
- Proven experience of T-SQL
- SQL Management Studio
- SQL Server administration, SQL Backups
Experience of supporting business critical Finance and HR applications would be ideal, however broad experience of application support in a fast moving commercial environment is essential.
The successful Application Support Analyst will be offered a starting salary between £28,000 - £35,000
